Alpha Femme Feature: Alexandra “Allie” Flores on Asking for More, Trusting the Process and telling yourself “I belong here.”

Some women lead with force. Others lead with steadiness..

Alexandra “Allie” Flores belongs to the latter.

She moves through life and business with a grounded confidence that doesn’t demand attention—but earns it. As part of my Alpha Femme Campaign, Allie stepped in front of the camera and into conversation, sharing what it looks like to build a meaningful career in a male-dominated industry, raise a full household, and still make room for herself along the way. .

At the core of everything she shared was a belief that feels both simple and radical:

“The ability to go for it is the thing. You ask the question, you try the thing—because they can only say no.”

A Career Built on Curiosity, Connection, and Courage

Allie works in IT sales, currently selling technology solutions to utility companies, with previous experience in industries like aerospace and defense. While the work is technical, what truly fuels her is people. She’s always been drawn to connection—through volunteering, community involvement, real estate, and now sales. That through-line has shaped how she shows up professionally.

“I love technology, but I also love talking to people. You get to have conversations and then provide solutions. That part has always driven me.”

Sales, for Allie, isn’t about pushing—it’s about listening, understanding, and building trust. And in spaces still dominated by men, that clarity matters.

“You really have to say, ‘I belong here. I want to do this thing.’ It doesn’t matter who’s in the room or what they look like—you keep the objective in mind and focus on bringing the client the solution.”

Redefining What Success Looks Like

Over time, Allie’s definition of success has evolved. While hitting targets still matters, she’s most energized by challenges that require growth—breaking into new markets, earning trust where it doesn’t yet exist, and selling technology no one expects you to sell.

“I like transforming from ‘they’re not in that market’ to ‘they’re trusted here now.’ Achieving something people don’t think you can achieve—that’s a different kind of success.”

That mindset recently paid off when Allie successfully brought an AI solution into a new space. What stood out most wasn’t just the win itself, but what followed.

“When the people above you ask you to come teach what you did—when they say, ‘Look at what she did, we can all learn from this’—that’s when you really feel accomplished.”

Her approach was simple and effective: listen closely, don’t oversell, and build trust intentionally.

The Power of Asking

One of Allie’s defining career shifts came not from being tapped on the shoulder—but from speaking up.

While working as a project manager, she was frequently pulled into sales meetings to demo solutions. Eventually, she realized she was already doing the work.

“I finally said, ‘I’m practically selling—don’t you have an open sales position? I think I should transition into sales.’ And all you had to do was ask.”

That willingness to start the conversation has shaped much of her career—and it’s the advice she gives freely to other women.

“Don’t tell yourself no. Just see how far you can go.”

Life Outside the Office: Full, Busy, and Beautifully Imperfect

Allie’s world doesn’t slow down when the workday ends. She and her husband have six kids between the ages of 16 and 23—a true modern-day Brady Bunch—along with the responsibilities that come with supporting young adults and aging parents.

“It’s a lot. You’re helping people figure out their next steps while still trying to build your own success—but you find ways to make it work.”

As a parent, she leads the same way she does in business: by listening.

“They’re at an age where they can find their own answers. Sometimes they just need someone who’s really listening.”

And when it comes to the pressure to do it all perfectly, Allie is clear:

“People get so stressed trying to juggle everything and make it look perfect. But it’s not going to be—and that’s okay.”

Making Space to Unplug

Rather than waiting for long stretches of free time, Allie weaves moments of care into her day—lifting weights during meetings where she’s listening, hopping on her bike for a quick ride, walking with her husband, or binge-watching movies with her daughter on a windy Saturday.

“You’ll feel so much better if you take advantage of your 10 or 15 minutes. People say they don’t have time—but if it’s important, you make time.”

The Alpha Femme Takeaway

Allie’s strength isn’t loud. It’s steady. It’s thoughtful. It’s built on asking for what she wants, listening deeply, and allowing life to be real instead of polished.

“Try the thing. Ask the question. Don’t tell yourself no.”

That’s the heart of Alpha Femme—and Allie embodies it beautifully.
